spring trends

Spring is officially here, which means it’s time to break down the SS25 trends straight from last September’s fashion week runways! The looks we saw back then are now hitting luxury stores, shaped by what buyers have handpicked for the season ahead. Let’s dive into the key trends defining spring style this year.

Mini Dress

During last autumn’s SS25 Fashion Week shows, the mini dress emerged as a standout piece—an evolution from the mini skirt craze sparked by Miu Miu and the Y2K revival. JW Anderson explored the trend through a minimalist yet innovative approach, crafting various silhouettes using just four materials: leather, cashmere, silk, and sequins. Meanwhile, Loewe embraced a more playful aesthetic, introducing sparkling sequin mini dresses with rounded, cupcake-like structures that added a whimsical touch. Across the board, designers presented fresh takes on the mini dress in a spectrum of colors, cuts, and textures, cementing its status as a go-to piece for SS25. Whether styled for a garden party or a casual day out, the mini dress this season is all about bold shapes, vibrant hues, and creative expression.

Pastels

Soft pastels infused the runways with a sense of romance and lightness, reinterpreting traditionally feminine and nostalgic hues through modern, streamlined silhouettes and ethereal fabrics.

Blush Pinks – A staple of romantic dressing, these delicate tones appeared in Valentino’s flowing chiffon gowns and Prada’s effortless, fluid suiting.

Butter Yellows – Almost melting into cream, these soft, sunlit shades were seen at Miu Miu and Jil Sander, adding warmth to the pastel spectrum.

This pastel resurgence aligns with the continued shift toward quiet luxury, romantic minimalism, and a longing for escapism. These dreamy hues offer a sense of softness and comfort, providing a refreshing contrast to the grunge-influenced aesthetics of previous seasons.

Crafty Maximalism

is the art of mixing prints and textures to a industry that wants so bad to erase individuality, logo mania,Y2K street-style and bold prints. For SS25 season the runway has embraced a bold fusion of maximalism patterns. If you’re used to a neutral wardrobe this summer will be a chance for vibrant self-expression through the combination of diverse prints and styles. Shows I enjoyed that executed this effectively for me were Dries, Versace and Miu Miu for revisiting the concept of print clashing, skilfully blending various patterns to create dynamic and eye-catching ensembles.

Maximalists will always have print. but the rest of us can get crafty ‘mindful maximalism’, harmoniously combining bold accessories instead of focusing solely on the clothing or in integrating textures. more next…

Crafty Minimalism

A natural evolution of minimalism can mean adding texture, dimension, and artisanal elements to an otherwise polished look. This runway trend feels fresh because it allows minimalism to be less rigid, more personal. Crafty Minimalism is for those who appreciate craftsmanship but want to keep their wardrobe effortless. Even the most die-hard minimalists will find something appealing here. Incorporating textural details subtly—think frayed edges and modular shapes a true fashion POV to pieces you might wear everyday.
